This Week’s Events

April 28, 2008

Hey folks! Like most weeks, we’re sticking to our regular weekly schedule. Thanks to all who came to last night’s Youth Gathering at Jacob’s Well. We had a great time worshipping with another community and listening to Brian McLaren preach. It was fantastic! If you want to share your experience at JW use the comments section below.

On another note: FUNDRAISER REMINDER!!! This Sunday, May 4th we will be having a Quatro de Mayo Taco Bar following worship. Please come for our regular Sunday morning time (instead of our Sunday Morning Faith Discussion we’ll be setting up and cooking) and be ready to have some fun in the kitchen. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact Adam at pickupyourcross@gmail.com.

Also, the Youth Leadership Team is still putting together this summer’s schedule. So, if you’ve got some ideas SPEAK UP!

Summer Schedule Planning

April 23, 2008

The Youth Leadership Team is currently putting together this summer’s activities. If you have an idea about something that you want to do let Jenn Carney, Robyn Holden, Glenn Johnson, Randy Carney, or Adam Gordon know!

We’re still trying to raise funds for this summer’s mission trip to Asheville, NC. So, here’s what’s coming up!

May 4:

  • Taco Bar Lunch - following worship. We’ll gather down in the kitchen during the Sunday School hour and during worship to set up and cook.
  • Pink Flamingo Insurance Sale Kickoff

May 11:

  • United Methodist Men’s Mother’s Day Luncheon - we’re helping to serve food and provide childcare.

Hey all! We’re sticking to our regular schedule (check out the tab at the top of the page).

Here’s a helpful opportunity: This Saturday (April 19) from 7-9:30 p.m. a new adult Sunday School class will be gathering, and they need help with childcare. So, here’s the deal –> we help provide childcare form 7-9 p.m. at the Bryan’s house (the church parsonage), and the new class (Love & Logic Parenting) will do something for usnot sure yet, but I’ve been promised that it’ll be good (we’re negotiating). If you’re interested in helping please let me know, via email, by Wednesday. It’s a great opportunity to help some folks help other folks - and we get to play with kids for a couple of hours! If you have any questions, email me those, too.

On a side note: I had a great time in Puerto Rico, but missed you all terribly. It’s good to be back home!

Here’s two week’s worth of updates.

We’ll be sticking to our regular weekly schedule (check out the page that says “Our Weekly Schedule” - it’s up at the top^). Even though Adam will be gone on the 6th and 13th (he’ll be back for the Sunday Night Youth Gathering on the 13th) we will still be doing our normal stuff. So come, bring a friend, and have some fun!

Youth Mission Stock Sales have ended, and we’ve done pretty good - around $1100 - that’s almost a third of what we need for the trip! Next up…Flamingo Insurance!
